- Head of Access Skills (2021)
Karl graduated from Dewsbury College in Yorkshire in 2011 with his National Diploma in Social Care. He was awarded his Diploma in Cognitive Behavior Therapy in 2015, and in 2021 he was awarded his Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services (Adults' Management) from Access Skills.
Karl has twenty-three years' experience supporting children, young people, and adults across a wide range of social care and educational settings. He has specialised in supporting the complex social, emotional, behavioral, and educational needs of young adults living with acquired and traumatic brain injuries (ABIs/TBIs) in the community. He is currently supporting adults living with ABIs/TBIs to regain their independence in their own communities.
Myles graduated from Buckinghamshire New University in 2014 with his BA in Sports and Media. He has developed a proven track record of building and sustaining positive working relationships with ABI/TBI clients requiring complex, 24-hour support. With thirteen years' experience in the sports and business sector, Myles has pro-actively engaged with some of the most abstracted young people in society, many of whom have previously struggled to complete their Further Education and have since become valued, productive members of society.
Myles was also awarded his Level 3 Certificate in Access to Education and Training in 2021. Drawing on his 'hands-on' experience, he provides our in-house induction for our support workers, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to help our clients and their families to live more fulfilling lives.
James graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2010 with his BSc in Psychology. He was awarded his Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy in 2016, and his MSc in Occupational and Organisational Psychology in 2018. He has also gained first-hand experience as a Team Leader/Field Supervisor supporting ABI/TBI clients to live more safely and independently in the community, and an Academic Mentor helping Higher Education students with disabilities to overcome barriers to learning.
James has fifteen years’ experience providing evidence-based assessments and support to young people and adults aged with complex developmental and mental health needs. He has also supported many young people and adults to transition from in-patient to community-based supported living. He is currently developing THCS through evidence-based, neuropsychologically-informed support for our clients and staff.
